This is an OOC-ish post for Samantha's bio, since it's far too long to fit in the bio window (gasp) provided by SMAUG. All OOC comments are denoted by being italicised.

Samantha was always headstrong from the moment she could talk and walk, boasting and showing off in front of the others in Norra, displaying what feats of strength she could at that age and so on. Eventually, though, she became bored of Norra, and left home in search of greater adventure. She made her way down Ice Mountain and set up camp in the Foothills in the late evening, having set out in mid afternoon and the path down the mountain being somewhat precarious. Before long, however, she was set upon by a group of half a dozen or so Razordemons - some of Rigg's henchmen, out looking for more slaves - who thought they'd found an easy target. Whilst Samantha was eventually subdued by the group, one was killed, two severely injured, and the remaining three all had an assortment of injuries as well.
Minus their fallen comrade (who was cremated), the group returned with their 'prize' in tow. Once they had relayed their story to Rigg, it was obvious to Rigg what this new slave would be - after all, many are aware of the arena set on top of the tower - and he had more than enough proof in the injuries of his henchmen that Samantha would make an excellent gladiator. Thus, her training in combat began. Unlike most, Samantha devoted herself to this task, as she knew that as a fighter she would at least have some means of escape, instead of toiling away like most. Whilst it wouldn't be the most direct, as a fighting escape from the tower would be suicide, it was her plan, and she was going to stick with it. Making full use of her additional limbs and flexibility, she slowly developed her own style of combat, a four-armed flurry of blades and spinning attacks, dancing around opponents and clawing her way up the ranks, one overconfident opponent at a time.
It was then that the plan went awry. With her growing success, she found a growing number of opponents within the higher ranks and the sponsors of recently-defeated gladiators. Thus, what was meant to be her final match was fixed. Samantha was sent into a battle to the death with no weapons or armour against a much better armed and armoured opponent. However, she faced it as a challenge, exploiting the arena terrain and many dirty tricks she had learned in combat, slowly wearing her opponent down, before disarming and beheading him with his own weapon in front of the entire arena. The crowd fell silent as the corpse hit the ground with a heavy metallic crunch, still twitching. Whilst the judges (who were in on the scheme the entire time) were barely suppressing their rage and didn't want to be seen as corrupt (at least among their own kind) knew that, one way or another, the triumphant gladiator had to go. They arranged for her to go to the cells, prior to a planned execution on trumped up charges.
Rigg, however, had plans of his own. Proud as he was of her success, he knew she couldn't stay at the Tower. Fortunately, the judges, in their hurried planning, had forgotten only one cell was free when they sent Samantha down there. This one cell was the one with the hidden passage - a handy coincidence. Rigg met with Samantha whilst the guard was away and slipped her a bundle of clothing, food, water and other supplies. He then directed her to take the torch from the cell wall and revealed the passage for her escape. Once she was out of sight in the dark tunnels below, Rigg returned to his shop. By the time the executioner and personnel arrived in the cells, Samantha had made it out to Tek, following the light shining off the Sun Temple Towers like a ship following a lighthouse beacon.

Thus, the story 'ends'. Rigg has been cast in darker light than usual as of late, so I hope this portrayal of him sets him a little closer towards the light he prefers, alongside Anth's upcoming plot.
